Insulation rebates available
- Attic insulation - $0.75 per sq. ft. – available if existing insulation level is R-11 or less, new insulation value R-49
- Wall insulation - $0.75 per sq. ft. – available if existing insulation level is R-0, new insulation value R-13+
- Floor insulation - $0.75 per sq. ft. – available if existing insulation level is R-0, new insulation value R-30+
Do I qualify?
No electric or natural gas usage requirement necessary for contractor installed insulation.
Customer requirements:
- Homeowners are responsible for complying with all applicable codes and regulations.
- Rebates are paid directly to homeowner or homeowner can authorize payment release to contractors.
- Credit: Allow up to 7 days for processing and payment of rebate, Check: Allow up to 4-6 weeks for processing and payment of rebate.
Rebate requirements:
- Primary source of heat must be Avista electric or natural gas and required to be an existing residence.
- Existing homes only. No new construction available
- Multifamily or small home there is no minimum usage required but must use Avista natural gas or electric as primary source of heating residence.
- Request for rebates must be submitted within 120 days of completion of energy efficiency measure.
- Rebates are not available for seasonal or recreational multifamily units.
- Avista reserves the right to verify installation of the energy efficiency measure(s) prior to payment and will coordinate inspection as applicable.
- Avista, and its agents, may upon reasonable notice, request access to customer’s premises after payment, for evaluation and measurement purposes.
- Rebates will not exceed 100% of the actual measure cost.
- All insulation installation must be contractor installed to be eligible for rebate consideration. We recommend that you obtain several bids for comparison
Insulation requirements:
- Only new insulation qualifies.
- All improvements must be contractor installed to be eligible for rebate consideration.
- Insulation must be installed only where such cavities separate conditioned from unconditioned areas of the residence (livable spaces).

Submit all rebate applications, final contractor invoices (bids and estimates are not accepted), and any supporting documentation (such as the receipt for a self-installed smart thermostat) within 120 days from the date of installation. Window rebates available
- Windows - $4.00 per sq. ft. – available for window U-Factor .29 or lower
- Storm windows - $3.00 per sq. ft. – Storm windows (interior/exterior) must be new, the same size as existing window, not in direct contact with existing window, and exterior windows, low e-coating must be facing the interior of the home. Glazing material emissivity must be less than 0.22 with a solar transmittance greater than 0.55.

- Existing multifamily units and small homes only.
- Multifamily or small home there is no minimum usage required but must use Avista natural gas or electric as primary source of heating residence. Request for rebates must be submitted within 120 days of completion of energy efficiency measure.
- The rebates are available for primary residences.
- Rebates are not available for seasonal or recreational homes.

Get your rebate
Step 1: Choose qualifying equipment
- Thermostat must be installed by a licensed contractor. Use our online referral tool to find the right contractor for you. We recommend that you obtain several bids for comparison.
- Smart thermostat(s) must connect to the in-home Wi-Fi and must have Smartphone application available to download or access via the internet.
- Only new equipment qualifies.
- Limit five per residence.
Step 2: Ensure your home qualifies
- New construction and existing homes qualify.
- Primary fuel used for heating must be Avista electric or natural gas service.
- For primary residential single-family homes up to a fourplex (including manufactured, modular and multifamily homes).
- Seasonal and recreational homes are not eligible.
Step 3: Submit a rebate application
- Complete and submit a rebate application within 120 days of qualifying equipment installation.
- Include a copy or electronic image of the receipt for your thermostat. Ask your contractor to include the make, model, and cost on your receipt or invoice.
