A leak survey detects, classifies, and reports natural gas leaks in Avista’s pipeline systems and facilities.
Leak survey inspections
- High traffic areas: Inspected annually (e.g., business districts).
- Residential areas: Inspected every five years.

Prior to inspection
- Notification: Avista will call or email you 5-7 days before the inspection. If you need a 24-hour notice, call 1-888-407-0327.
- Update your contact information: Ensure your email, phone number, and mailing address are current to receive notifications.
Day of inspection
- Technician visit: A technician may knock on your door before inspecting your gas meter and service line. If you’re not available, they will leave a door hanger with contact details to reschedule.
