There is no early termination fee; your participation is month to month.
Funds received from participating customers are used to purchase Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) from renewable energy facilities equal to the customer's purchase. Any funds not used towards the purchase of RECs may support the construction of new community-based projects that increase public education and awareness of renewable technologies, as well as, growing the support for renewable energy through customer education and outreach efforts and to cover the costs of offering the program. Avista does not make a profit by offering renewable options to customers.
No. My Clean Energy is a voluntary program that provides participating customers with the option to be leaders alongside Avista in the growth of renewable energy above and beyond other government goals or requirements. Your purchase makes a difference. The RECs purchased are retired on behalf of program participants and are completely separate from any other RECs Avista may purchase to meet goals or requirements.
